Description

Used for 'splitting' mating surfaces, flanges and 'wedging' split fasteners, also used for 'packing' machinery and structures before fixing. Foxtail wedging is the use of a wedge for expanding the split end of a bolt, cotter pin, dowel, or tenon to fasten the end in a hole or mortise to prevent extraction. The wedge sits at the bottom of the hole and the fastener is forced down on it. Manufactured from hardened and tempered forged steel.
